Where we are, how to get here?

All tours depart from The Cave's service house.

The Cave is located in Borgarfjörður West Iceland, near
Hotel Húsafell. We are accessible by 2wd drive cars and
well marked on nearby roads. Look for "Fljótstunga, The Cave or Víðgelmir"

FROM SOUTH ICELAND
From Reykjavík take road 1. to Borganes. Before Borganes make a right
turn on road 50. It will lead to road 518 to Reyholt. Keep going on 518 to
Húsafell. Drive past Húsafell area. Once tarmac road turns into gravel make
a left turn over a small bridge. Follow the signs marked “The Cave”.
Apr. 65km/40miles from rd.1 to The Cave.

FROM NORTH ICELAND
From road 1 make a left turn on road 50, just after the gas station named
“Baula”. Stay on road 50 to the intersection of 50 and 518. Turn left on road
518. Keep going on 518 to Húsafell. Drive past Húsafell area. Once tarmac
road turns into gravel make a left turn over a small bridge.
Follow the signs marked “The Cave”.

NOTE: The road from Þingvellir to Húsafell (rd.550) is only accessible during summer.

Stops you do not want to miss include;
Reykholt historic sight, home of Snorri Sturluson (1174-1241) author of Snorra Edda. 
Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hotspring. 
Tröllafossar and Barnafossar/hraunfossar. Iceland is world renowned for its waterfalls and these 3 waterfalls should not go unseen.  
Húsafell a well-known camping-ground and holiday resort, known for its long spells of good weather, it is the perfect place for a picnic or a packed lunch.
